Domonkos István
Domonkos István (7 August 1940, Ókér – 7 November 2024) was a Hungarian-language poet and writer from Vojvodina, considered one of the most significant figures in Vajdaság Hungarian literature. In the 1960s he became a central figure of Új Symposion, the influential Yugoslav-Hungarian literary circle.
His poem cycle Kormányeltörésben is widely regarded as one of the major works of 20th-century Hungarian poetry.
A documentary portrait film about him, Hordozható haza (“Portable Homeland”), was made in 2006 by Kalapáti Ferenc and Bollók Csaba.
